Festival 2008 registration deadline is Friday, February 8, 2008.

To speed up processing entries and finalizing the Festival 2008 Program, please submit 1 entry form for each solo performer or each group in a single discipline.  We very much appreciate teachers and studios submitting Festival entry and SCFPA membership forms for their students with one cheque that covers all fees.
SCFPA membership fees are $10 per year for an individual, family or group - one performer per family includes the $10 fee to cover all family members.  Directors submit forms and fees for community choirs or ensembles (group membership is also $10 a year).  Our thanks to School District 46 for providing access to Chatelech High School Theatre without cost, and encouraging school ensemble participation in Festival - school entries do not pay SCFPA membership fees.
Entry forms and SCFPA membership forms are here. Syllabus 2008 has both Entry and Membership Forms. We are very grateful to Interfor for sponsorship that provides Festival publications without charge!  Many thanks to supportive libraries and Festival distribution outlets:  Sew Much More! (Upper Gibsons), MeloMANIA (Roberts Creek); Talewind Books (Sechelt), Miss Sunny's Hair Boutique (Madeira Park).  Session schedules for each discipline will be sent to teachers, studios and performers first electronically, then Program 2008 will be available in outlets by early April.

Preamble
The following is directly quoted from the printed Syllabus 2007 booklet. Amendments appropriate to this web site are inserted in colour.

1. Syllabi are available in Gibsons at Sew Much More, 1099 Sunshine Coast Highway at Pratt Rd;  in Roberts Creek at MELOMania, behind the Gumboot above the Woodworking School;  in Sechelt at Talewind Books, 5494 Trail Rd;  in Pender Harbour at Miss Sunny's Hair Salon, 12912 Madeira Park Rd. Copies are available at Libraries in Gibsons, Sechelt and Roberts Creek.  All of the information from the booklet is on this site.  For further information please call SCFPA President Sue Milne at (604) 886-1255 or Vice-President Betty Paterson at (604) 886-4226.

2. The Official Entry Form can be found on the last page of the Syllabus. See the Menu above for a web site version you may use.  Please photocopy as many entry forms as you require.  Note: submit only one form  per performer per discipline.  Where two or more performers are entering a class together, only one entry form is required.

3. Entry fees are: Junior Classes-$8.00, Intermediate Classes- $10.00, Senior and Open Classes-$12.00, Groups of 2 to 10-$16.00, Bands, Orchestras and Choirs-$30.00.  Fees must be paid by one cheque or money order. Changes of selection or TBA's will not be allowed.

4. Fill in the entry form as completely as possible. Teachers are responsible for putting selections in the right category and in the correct grade or age level. The Festival Board reserves the right to disqualify any entry form which is not completely, correctly and legibly filled out.

5. Festival 2007 performers are all SCFPA Society members.  The same annual $10 membership fee applies to an individual, a family, a community choir or ensemble.  Teachers submitting Festival 2007 registration fees for their students should include the annual $10 SCFPA membership fee for one performer in a family;  this also covers all other performers in that family.  Community choirs and ensembles should include $10 membership with their registration fee.  Through the SCFPA partnership with School District 46, SCFPA membership is not required for school choirs or ensembles.

6. PHOTOCOPYING:  Photocopying of copyright music for the purpose of performance is illegal.  No photocopies or computer-generated copies will be allowed, unless they show legal authorisation by the publisher or composer.  Using photocopies or computer-generated copies will result in disqualification.  Please note that this also applies to accompanists.  Use page-turners if required (people such as parents, teachers, committee members, etc. may be used to turn pages during a performance).

7. Please return trophies and covers in the condition received by February 8, 2008, to Sunshine Coast Arts Centre, 5714 Medusa St., Sechelt, or to your music teacher
